It is with great pleasure the KISD Administration, staff and Board of Trustees, welcomes everyone to the 2016-2017 school year!
Our District and Campus leaders and staff have been busy making sure our learning environments and curriculum-based programs are filled with 21st Century learning skills that will continue to empower our students to reach futures of excellence. Our campus leaders and staff are ready and excited to continue to support the implementation of innovative initiatives to provide optimal learning opportunities for all KISD students.
This new school year brings exciting innovations for us! We will be in Year One of having the T-STEM Designation at H.M. King High School. We are also proud to say our high school has full designation for Early College.
MicroSociety is expanding at KISD! Both Harrel Elementary and Gillet Intermediate will begin MicroSociety this year.
KISD has grown in many ways, and today, we celebrate the solid foundation our faculty, staff, students, parents and community has built through collaborative partnerships. That solid foundation is the underlying strength that continues to prepare KISD students for higher education and career-readiness.
We are excited to announce this year’s theme is, “We Are KISD, United We Stand”.
With the expansion of MicroSociety, T-STEM Designation, and many other extracurricular and enrichment programs KISD has to offer, we expect to be better than last year. We are providing new learning opportunities in all of our campuses, and are opening many new doors of possibilities for our students. KISD continues to build on its strong foundation, and we will continue to celebrate our achievements throughout the year. We are Brahmas, and we will not settle for anything less than the best because … We Are KISD!
For our returning students, welcome back, Brahmas! And for our new students and their families, Welcome to the Brahma Family! … It’s going to be a great year!
