Open Records Request
The Texas Public Information Act gives members of the public a right of access to government records. While most existing documents are considered open records, the law provides specific exceptions that may apply to the disclosure of information in some cases. The act also outlines procedures for making an open records request and how governmental bodies should respond to such requests. For more information about the act, go to the website of the Texas Attorney General’s office at: https://www.oag.state.tx.us/open-government
