My name is Sandy Cantu and I have been teaching elementary for 12 years.  I absolutely love teaching children and watching them blossom throughout the year.  I have been married to my best friend Dony Cantu for 19 years.  He is an amazing husband who understands and supports my  after school hours and all my paper work that goes home. He helps me around the house.  I'm one lucky wife.  I have the two most amazing boys in the world.  My son Dony Jr is 19 years old and is currently a student at Coastal Bend College.  He is such a responsible young man with amazing manners.  My son Luis is 11 years old and is currently attending Gillett Intermediate.  He is the most loving child you will meet.  He loves hugs and kisses from his mom, dad, and brother.  We have such open relationships, I can proudly say I'm their best friend.  I also am blessed to work with my mother (my best friend) here at Harvey Elementary.  My mom and dad are my life.  They have supported all my decisions and stood by me 100%.  I would not be where am I today without them.  I have four gorgeous sisters, one brother, seven nephews, and one niece.  I adore each of them. And then of course all my students.  I fall completely in love with them each and every year.
