Kingsville ISD is applying for the 2021-2022 Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant. This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.

Children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-20 Texas school year. 3. Children who attend a school that offers free meals to all students (Community Eligibility Provision or Provision 2).

The Kingsville Independent School District would like to continue to serve the community while reducing the amount of exposure by way of interaction of families with KISD staff. Therefore, beginning Tuesday, April 14th, KISD will provide one curbside meal/instructional packet service for the entire week. This service will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the following campuses: - H.M. King High School (Pre-K through 12th grade packets) - Memorial Middle School (Pre-K though 8th grade packets) - Gillett Intermediate School (Pre-K though 8th grade packets)
KISD will provide all breakfast and lunches for the week on the first day of each week. All meals will be refrigerated and come with heating instructions. The District will also provide pick-up and drop-off of instructional packets during the same time frame.
Families that do not have the ability to utilize the curbside service can call (361) 595-8678 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to schedule delivery of meals and instructional materials.
P-EBT is a one-time food benefit for families who lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to school closures. Due to the COVID-19, the PEBT application deadline has been extended to 31 July.
