Parent Involvement

The research is clear and convincing: Regardless of income or background, when

parents are involved, students are more likely to earn higher grades and test scores, enroll in higher-level programs, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior, graduate, and go on to postsecondary education.

How can YOU be more involved?

1.      Volunteer

Harvey Elementary School Parent Involvement Center is located in Room A1 and is facilitated by our Harvey Elementary Parent Liaison, Ms Perez. She can be reached Monday through Wednesday at 361-592-5246, extension 3730.

There are many ways a volunteer can help students at Harvey Elementary: library assistance, field trip help, tutoring students in math, science, foreign languages, etc. You can also, help with our Box Tops for Education program, count pennies for PTO, prepare blue slips for our blue slip drawings and more!

Contact our school to learn more about volunteer opportunities.

2.      Join PTO

Join A.D. Harvey ‘s Parent Teacher Organization!  The purpose of  PTOs is to help children do better in school. According to PTO Today, when parents are involved in a child's education, both at home and at school, children do better academically. This includes higher grades and test scores, better attendance, better social skills, fewer behavior problems, and a tendency to graduate and continue their education. Get involved in what’s going on on our campus and become member today!

The membership is $3 per family. For meeting dates and times, see our campus newsletters.
