The mission of KISD is to provide a safe and challenging academic environment, in collaboration with community partners that will empower students to achieve futures of excellence. In keeping with our mission, KISD has developed extensive partnerships with local Institutions of Higher Education and the Community organizations and businesses to provide students with relevant curriculum learning experiences.
The Curriculum Department provides a service delivery model to KISD schools through:
- Instructional Services
- Special Programs
- Special Education
- Federal Programs
- Instructional Technology
- Career and Technical Education
- Fine Arts
KISD is collaborating with Lead4ward to provide the “AAA Transition Service” curriculum development project to ensure the transition of district curriculum to high quality instruction by:
- Anchoring instruction to focus TEKS and the district’s curriculum (TEKS Resource System anchoring to the Instructional Focus Documents),
- Aligning local, state, and supplemental resources to targeted instruction and
- Adapting instruction for maximum student engagement and transfer of learning.
